BARBARA LANG

Monclova Township Trustee

www.electBarbara.org

Barbara Lang has proudly called Monclova Township home since 1994. She first lived on Albon Road, enjoying the rural charm of the township, and has recently returned to subdivision living at Brandywine. Much like Monclova itself, she has experienced both rural and neighborhood settings, giving her a well-rounded perspective when listening to residents and understanding community needs.

Born in Defiance, Ohio in 1965 and raised in nearby Swanton, Barbara attended St. Richard’s for grade school, Notre Dame Academy for high school, and graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications. Professionally, she has spent most of her career in development with the Mercy Health Foundation.

Barbara brings valuable experience in team building, communication, and project development through both professional work and public service. She is a graduate of The Ohio State Leadership Academy 1 and 2, the President of the Monclova-Maumee-Toledo Joint Economic Development Zone and has recently been elected to represent Lucas County on the Ohio Township Association Board of Directors.  She is also certified by National Incident Management System (NIMS).

Over her tenure, Barbara has championed projects that:

  • Expanded Monclova Township’s parkland
  • Improved road safety
  • Strengthened fire and safety services

Now serving her fifth term as Trustee, Barbara remains committed to keeping Monclova Township strong, stable, and secure. Priorities as Trustee include:

  • Ensure excellent delivery of essential services such as road repair, snow removal, garbage collection, clean water, and general maintenance.
  • Provide 24/7 safety services including police, fire, and EMS.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility while growing opportunities through TIF and JEDD areas.
  • Manage zoning and land use in ways that welcome business, protect neighborhoods, and preserve the township’s rural character.

Barbara emphasizes: “Using tax dollars wisely has always been my focus. Another issue of critical importance is staying in touch with residents. Building relationships is key to success.”

A dedicated volunteer, Barbara enjoys an active lifestyle in Northwest Ohio with her husband, Tom, and their children, Alexander and Madeline. The Lang family appreciates the heartland way of life—spending time birdwatching, fishing, hiking, and participating in family and community activities.
