MARK FRYE

Mark Frye was sworn in as Mayor of Sylvania in January 2025. Prior to becoming Mayor, Frye has served on City Council for ten years; including four years as Council President. Mayor Frye has worked to continue the progress experienced in the City. During his time on Council, Frye was the chairperson of Finance, Safety, and Streets at various points. Mark also served on the Utilities & Environment, Buildings & Grounds committees and served as the City’s liaison with Red Bird Sylvania. Prior to becoming a member of City Council, Mark was a member of the Sylvania Architectural Review Board and Municipal Planning Commission.

His service to the wider community includes twelve years as a member of the Lucas Board of Developmental Disabilities including six as Board President. Mark is an active member of Olivet Lutheran Church  and served as President of their Board for three years.

Mark has been the President of Palmer Energy Company for over 30 years. Palmer is an energy consulting firm which helps their numerous clients reduce their energy supply costs. 

Mark has resided in Sylvania for over twenty years. He is married to Dr. Cynthia Frye and has 2 adult children.
